GIVEAWAY: March

This little ball of yarn is big enough to make two baby magic slippers.

I found the pattern for them on sockpixie while looking on Ravelry. I fell in love with the baby slippers when I saw them. I wanted to try making something little and tiny and cute with those little nuggets of yarn. I used the leftover yarn from those arm warmers I made my sister.

I decided that these would be the perfect thing for my GIVEAWAY this month. I made one pair as a gift and one pair to giveaway. So... leave a comment on this post and you'll be entered. The giveaway will close on Monday at 4:00 pm MST.

February GIVEAWAY

I made a couple of these hats for two of my children's teachers. I figured I'd make another one and get it finished before the end of the month so here it is:

The Butterfly Hat (pattern here)

I think it turned out so cute. It's my favorite color. I used Red Heart 0373 Petal Pink.

Leave a comment on this post and you'll be entered. I like to make things and I like to share things, so this giveaway is for anyone that reads this blog and wants to win the hat! So feel free to comment.

Oh yeah! Thanks to my lovely models for showing how the hat looks on different ages.

I'll close the the giveaway on Monday at 4:00pm MST and post the winner afterward.

**the giveaway is now closed***

Congratulations to the Calico Crew.

Birthday GIVEAWAY

GUESS WHO?
It's my lovely sister Kasey. And it's her birthday today!

I love my sister so much. She is wonderful. I can be myself around her and no matter what I say or do, she still likes me.

These are what I'm giving to her. I found the pattern for knitting them here. She calls hers TOAST and says, " Worn with a sweater with 3/4 sleeves, or poking out of a sleeve of a jacket." I altered the pattern a little bit. And so I'm naming mine CINNAMON TOAST.

Cinnamon Toast

Yarn: Paton's Kroy, Summer Moss Jaquard
75% washable wool, 25% nylon
Needles: 3

Cast on 56 stitches. Divide onto 3 needles (needle 1, 24 stitches; needle 2 ,16 stitches; needle 3, 16 stitches). Join for working in the round. Work in (Knit 4, Purl 4) ribbing for 11 inches. Bind off. Weave in both ends. And there you are!

And so in honor of my sister I'm going to give away a pair!

(The pair I'll give away is slightly different. The yarn is Fern Rose Jacquard, and I'll make them using the TOAST pattern, so they'll look like this.)

It's going to work like last time... Leave a comment on this post and you're entered.

Here's an added twist: if you e-mail a birthday message to my sister TODAY ONLY (JANUARY 16) you'll get an extra entry!

The drawing will close Sunday at 5:30pm MST

The drawing is now closed. This is how the giveaway pair turned out. They're comfy, cozy to wear. I'll announce the winner in just a minute.

Congratulations to AUTUMNTIME!

E-mail me your address, and I'll bring these babies right on over! For some added fun, you should take a picture of yourself wearing TOAST and post it on your blog for all of us to see!

Legwarmie GIVEAWAY

Remember when I knit those cyoot legwarmies? Well, I had so much fun that I have kept myself busy knitting. I figured out the pattern so now I don't have to do my adapted version.

I decided that since this was the season of giving, I'd do a LEGWARMIE GIVEAWAY! To enter all you have to do is comment on this post. I'll wait a few days and then do the drawing on Saturday or Sunday.

  • The legwarmies measure 11.5 inches long, 4 inches wide.

  • They're pink and green, 100% cotton.

  • They're sized to fit Zoe. (Circumference-wise they fit her with room to grow!)

  • Also, I've washed and dried hers a few times and they don't seem to have shrunk.

One more thing. Here's that pattern.

Legwarmies!

It's been quite a few years since I last CAST ON. Last week I saw some legwarmies, (here) that led me to the pattern (here). It got my mind a-thinking. And my heart a-thumping. I checked out my stash of knitting needles, bought at a yard sale, and sure enough I had the right size. By Friday night, I was knitting away. My HEAD and HANDS felt so, SO good!

I had to adapt the pattern a little for my skill level, but I think they turned out DARNED CYOOT!! It's like Zoe will be taking a little piece of SUNSHINE with her every time she wears the legwarmies this winter!
